When the one with the two-edged sword speaks to the church in Pergamum, He says, “To him who overcomes I will give to eat the hidden manna” (Revelation 2:12-17). Everyone knows what manna is. However, hidden manna is something that many do not understand. In this prophetic message, with the support of various scriptures, we will look at what manna is? What is hidden manna? How can we obtain hidden manna? How can we eat it? Read this prophetic message prayerfully. The Holy Spirit will reveal deep truths to you. May the name of the Lord be glorified.
In Deuteronomy chapter eight verse three, it says, “He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.” Pay close attention to this and read it carefully. It says “manna, which you and your ancestors did not know.” Similarly, in Deuteronomy chapter eight verse sixteen, it says “manna, which your ancestors did not know.”
That is, the Scripture says that the God of heaven fed the people of Israel with unknown manna. However, the people of Israel knew very well about manna. What is its quantity? What is its color? What is its taste? They clearly knew (Exodus 16:31). However, when the prophet Moses writes, he writes unknown manna. The prophet Moses wrote the first five books of the Old Testament.
So, if we have the answers to questions like what is the unknown manna mentioned in the Holy Bible? How did the people of Israel eat it?, then we can know what is the hidden manna? and how to eat it? First, let’s clearly see what is the unknown manna.
In the wilderness, the entire congregation of the children of Israel murmured against the prophets Moses and Aaron, saying, “You have brought us out into the wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger” (Exodus 16). Then the Lord gave them manna, the bread of heaven, to eat. He also gave them some instructions for eating this manna.
Manna should be collected every morning. When the sun comes up, it will melt. Similarly, only an omer should be taken for each person. No one should save the rest. If you collect more, it will attract insects and cause a bad smell. However, the God of heaven gave some commands, such as collecting twice as much on the sixth day.
Now the people of Israel knew what manna was, what its taste was, and how to eat it. Every morning, according to God’s command, they would go and gather manna and grind it in machines, pound it in mortars, or cook it in pots. They would bake it into loaves and eat it. As they ate the manna, the God of heaven kept feeding them with the unknown manna. You may ask, how is that?
The manna they ate was physical food. But the unknown manna was spiritual food. They must obey God’s commands and eat the manna of the flesh. When they obey, they will have some feelings of the spirit. It will sanctify them. For example, they said, “Will we have food?” They murmured, “He brought us into this wilderness to starve to death.” They doubted whether they would have food. Now, when they see the manna every morning, a feeling will come within them and faith will automatically come that they will definitely get manna every morning. Therefore, when they wake up in the morning, there will be no unbelief about the food. At some point, there will be no doubt about the food they eat.
The God of heaven fed them by giving them many feelings and words in the Spirit. This is what Moses calls the unknown manna. The spiritual man became strong by eating this unknown manna.
Likewise, the hidden manna given in the New Testament book of Revelation is also a spiritual food. No one knows about it except those who eat it. The God of heaven has promised to give it to the one who overcomes.
So how will He give the hidden manna? How can we eat it? Hidden manna is the manna that is hidden. Only those who eat it know it. Therefore, only those who eat it can realize it. The God of heaven will give this manna through some circumstances that occur in life. For example, you may have been an angry person and have been saved. You may get terribly angry. Now you have prayed repeatedly to overcome your anger. At one time, you may have testified that I am not angry; I have overcome my anger. One day, situations will come that make you angry. At that time, you will get angry. Now a feeling will come within you. “You are still angry; your anger has not left you yet; you still need to be freed from anger.” A feeling will come within you that this is the hidden manna. No one else knows this. Only you know it. Only those who eat it know it. In this way, the God of heaven makes you aware of the hidden sin within you through circumstances. You will become holy by confessing it and praying about it. It will sanctify you.
This is how the God of heaven will give us the hidden manna to eat. He will speak through circumstances. By observing this and eating it daily, we will become holy upon holy and inherit the kingdom of heaven.
